first off, i have heart burn and my ear hurts.
ok now, knitty talk.
i'm knitting my sock still... 4 more repeats til the toe.
and i'm knitting on the clappy too... but eh! i'm confuzzled again. first pictures!
i have 2 concerns....
first concern: IS IT UGLY? i'm just not sure about that color... too much yellow, i think. but do you think it's hideous? i'm knitting this clappy for my mom's birthday and mother's day. mother's day is may 13th and my mom's birthday is may 14. so do you think it's too crappy to give? i dont know... maybe i will like it better once i start to drop the sts and it's more drapy and have more contours to it. so tell me the truth (amy, you promised!) IS IT FUGLY?
second concern: yarn usage. i have 9 balls of this yarn... and what you see in those pictures is practically one knitted. so i have heard that with the clapotis, you can divide your yarn into thirds... one third for increases, one third for the straight knitting and one third for the decreases. do you think i should do this? i could do 3 balls each. oh and with the one ball i have knitted, the increase section only lacks one repeat before i start the straight sections.
if you follow the pattern it should be 21x55 finished.... is that big enough? should i just follow the pattern or try the one third theory? tell me what you would do.
(i am so indecisive, it's not funny.)
(also, i have a big interview at a big tv station tomorrow, wish me luck)
because i dont have anything else i should be doing... like packing or something like that! it's not like i'm moving to florida TOMORROW! nah.
oh what to start with!!??? how about carrie's shawl. for ALLLLLL my readers here on vox that dont know... i knitted my best friend a shawl for her wedding late last year. behold the 70 inches of stockingnette. it has a small crocheted border. the color is about right on in these photos...it's debbie bliss pure silk, color ecru.
the wingspan:
These are my newest dishcloths.... I had to knit 2 more for my contest because I am a horrible person.
And this is all 4 of them:
And here are the surpise pictures I took, Amy!!! Since I had to pack the yarn anyways... i took some pictures of it! :D I have more than i thought... that's a pretty big futon it's all on. remember how on sunday, i went to ac moore to get some of that paton's divine yarn because i had been eyeballing it and they had it on sale for 2$? well as i was digging thru my stash i came up with another skien of the stuff that i DO NOT ever remember buying! and it was the same color i bought on sunday! lol how funny is that?
these next two you can click on and go to flickr and see the notes on the pictures will tell you about what the yarn is, if you care! :D
and now for the pictures of my jaywalkers that i have been working on.... i wish there was more light blue in the yarn!! i dont think the pattern shows up as much on these either.... but you can see it and it will be fine. they are hard to get over my heel, but that's good. sorry they are so blurry...it's rainy out.
it is such a freaking pain in the ass to add pictures on this blog site!!!! ok now i MUST get back to packing! bleck!
really i do. i wish i could do the 2 blog thing...but i cant, never have been able to. even if one is dedicated to one thing and the other another thing. however, it might not matter much. my knitting world is very boring right now...going no where fast, that is for sure.
i am still working on the shawl that i am knitting for my best friend to wear in her wedding. *shakes head* what was i thinking to agree to this:
over the phone, 2 different cities, 2 months ago:
best friend carrie: i think i found something i like
me: oh yeah, read it to me.
bf carrie: it says it's stockingnette. do you know how to do that?
*silence*
me, reluctently: yes.
bf carrie: is it hard??
*silence*
me, reluctently again: no.
again, what was i thinking??? so i am up to my nose in 100$ silk yarn... color? ecru. ecru is OFF WHITE! doesnt that sound like fun? whoo! off white silk yarn on size 6 needles doing the stockingnette stitch. last time i measured it: 55 inches. *headdesk* it has to be 70 inches long. must keep knitting.
but i have been doing some thinking. about the border. it has to have a border, to help flatten it out (hopefully) so i am going to learn to do some basic crochet. so i am thinking about 3 inch borders... so that's 6 inches i dont have to knit... so i only have to get it up to 64 inches... so technically less than 10 inches to go! and if i do nothing else on my next 2 days off, i could have that done by wednesday. maybe. lol
bf carrie also wants 1 inch of fringe on it. i HATE, H8, HATE fringe. so i am hoping that once she sees the loverly crocheted border that she might change her mind on the fringe. i also think i will do one row of the crochet along the long sides of the shawl as well.
so there is an entry... hopefully i will be better at this. :D
